There’s a lot more that goes into fueling your vehicle than just pouring in some gas. Even after all the refining and cleaning of the oil, the gas still can’t just be put directly into your car. There are still a lot of sediments and particles in the gas that would destroy your engine. That’s where the fuel filter comes in. It blocks all those sediments from clogging up your engine. Here’s how:
The design of the fuel filter is easy to understand; it works just like any other filter. A pleated material sifts out the sediments when the fuel pressure pushes the fuel through it. Eventually, this debris accumulates in the filter and the fuel begins to have trouble passing through it. When the flow is blocked too much, your car can even misfire when going up an incline.
Here at Street Automotive, we offer fuel filter replacement alongside a host of other auto-related services. For more information, please give us a call at (480) 641-8784 or just stop by our location. We look forward to hearing from you!
